Bullet-Proof Glass

İsso Armor manufactures and installs EN 1063 compliant bullet-resistant glass for vehicles and buildings. Our glass is multi-layer laminated and made to measure and shape at every protection level from BR4 to BR7.

Bullet-resistant glass for vehicles

In armored vehicle projects the windscreen, side, rear and roof glass are replaced with ballistic glass at the same level as the body armor. The glass edges sit in the frame with a steel overlap, so no weak point remains around the window. Front door windows can be made to open partially on request; window motors and rails are reinforced for the added weight. Heating elements, rain sensors and camera zones keep their original function.

Ballistic glass for buildings, counters and security posts

We produce flat or curved ballistic glass for bank counters, exchange offices, jewellers, guard booths, residential and office facades. The glass is delivered together with an aluminium or steel profile system, and can be adapted to existing frames. In living-area armoring projects the glass and ballistic panels are planned together.

Protection levels and thickness

• BR4: .44 Magnum handgun, approx. 20-22 mm
• BR5: 5.56 mm rifle, approx. 30-34 mm
• BR6: 7.62x51 mm rifle, approx. 38-42 mm (most common choice for vehicles)
• BR7: 7.62x51 mm armor-piercing, approx. 55-65 mm

Every window is produced at the same level as the body armor; we do not combine glass and panels of different levels. See our ballistic levels page for details.
